Job summary

A housing service provider is seeking a proactive Garage Officer to manage garage and hardstanding allocations and ensure customer satisfaction in Harlow. The ideal candidate will inspect areas for safety, resolve issues like vandalism, maintain records, and assist in team training. Essential requirements include experience in housing management, knowledge of relevant legislation, strong communication and IT skills, and a full UK driving licence. This full-time temporary position offers a salary of £16.81 PAYE.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer-focused housing or estate management.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate and manage garages and hardstandings to maximise usage.
  • Inspect garage blocks and hardstanding areas for safety and maintenance issues.
  • Investigate and resolve issues such as vandalism, abandoned vehicles, and health hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records and update electronic systems.
  • Support debt recovery and recommend write-offs in line with financial regulations.
  • Assist with team cover and training of new staff.
