Job Title: Furniture Project Manager (Junior to Experienced)

Are you an experienced Furniture Project Manager looking for a new challenge, or a high-potential Junior PM ready to take the next step?

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute individual to join our team, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of all furniture packages within our commercial workplace design & build projects. This role is open to candidates with significant experience, as well as outstanding junior candidates with relevant foundational knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Ownership & Commercial Management:
    • Take full commercial and delivery responsibility for furniture packages across multiple simultaneous D&B projects.
    • Manage project budgets, including cost control, processing variations, and authorising supplier stage payments.
  • Logistics & Site Liaison:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for the main contractor/site team regarding all furniture logistics and installation programming.
    • Provide regular project review and reporting.
  • Procurement & Specification:
    • Collaborate with sales and design teams to finalise specifications, ensuring adherence to client requirements and budget.
    • Develop and compile detailed quotation and procurement documents.
  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Manage the full procurement process: creating Purchase Orders (POs), negotiating terms, and actively liaising with the supply chain.
    • Ensure 100% accuracy of orders and resolve technical or logistical queries.
  • Installation Management:
    • Develop detailed delivery and installation programmes (logistics schedules) that integrate with the main construction timeline.
    • Oversee on-site delivery and installation to ensure quality and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Quality & Handover:
    • Manage project completion, including formal snagging, defect reporting, and ensuring timely rectification.
    • Collate comprehensive Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for the final handover.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant Sector Experience:
    • Experienced Candidates (Target Salary: £55k - £65k): 3+ years of proven experience managing furniture projects within the commercial interior design, fit-out, or design & build sectors.
    • Junior Candidates (Target Salary: £42k - £55k): Foundational experience (1+ years) or a strong academic background with demonstrably relevant experience in project coordination, procurement, or interior design/fit-out.
  • Commercial Acumen & Budget Management:
    • Experienced Candidates: Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable experience managing large project budgets and negotiating with a diverse supply chain.
    • Junior Candidates: Good commercial awareness and a keen willingness to learn budget management and supplier negotiation.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Experienced Candidates: Excellent technical understanding of contract furniture, materials, and specification processes.
    • Junior Candidates: A strong interest in and basic knowledge of furniture specification and materials.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly methodical, organised, and detail-oriented approach to process and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with clients, designers, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Process Proficiency: Proficiency in creating and managing commercial documents (quotes, POs, invoices, installation schedules).
  • Attitude: Energy, drive, and a proactive 'can do' attitude, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding project environment.
Desired Qualifications & Attributes:
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Health & Safety Certification/Awareness (e.g., CSCS card, SMSTS/SSSTS awareness).
  • Experience using industry-relevant software for quoting, procurement, or specification.
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in a related field (e.g., Interior Design, Construction Management).
  • Fluency in technical drawing comprehension (e.g., CAD/Revit).
