Overview

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join the Royal British Legion as a Poppy Appeal Manager for Buckinghamshire. This role offers a unique opportunity to coordinate all aspects of the award-winning Poppy Appeal in your area, working closely with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager to meet agreed income, expenditure, and contribution targets. You will manage relationships with local supporters, partners, and volunteers, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to maximise fundraising efforts and make a lasting impact.

Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture corporate partnerships, engaging with volunteers and local stakeholders to achieve shared goals while representing the Royal British Legion in your local community.
  • Recruit, induct and support new Poppy Appeal Organisers; coordinate the Poppy Appeal launch and related PR and media activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates and enabling outreach efforts.
  • Travel regularly within Buckinghamshire; be contracted to your home address and travel as required, including occasional overnight stays for training or conferences.
  • Maintain work-life balance with some evening and weekend work; flexible working options may be available.
  • Ensure you have a full UK driving licence (required).
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Commitment to the Armed Forces community and the mission of the Royal British Legion.
  • Experience in relationship-building and event planning; financial management experience is helpful but not essential.
  • Ability to manage budgets, priorities, and multiple stakeholders; strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work across flexible arrangements; willingness to travel within the county and beyond as needed.
  • Full UK driving licence.
