Job summary

A leading training provider in Lyneham is seeking an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to teach and support learners in achieving their qualifications. You will deliver face-to-face English and Maths courses to apprentices and act as a coach to help them succeed. Essential qualifications include a Certificate in Education & Training and experience in teaching Functional Skills. This role requires strong communication skills and compliance with relevant policies.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Functional Skills to learners.
• Experience in apprenticeship programmes or defence sector.
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet learner needs.

About the Role

JoinaleadingorganisationsupportingUKdefenceinfrastructureanddeliveringprogrammesacrossSalisburyandWiltshire. Inthisrole,youwillteach,coach,assess,andsupportlearners,helpingthemachievetheirqualificationsandreachtheirfullpotential.

WearelookingforanexperiencedFunctionalSkillsTutortodeliverface-to-faceEnglishandMathscourses(Level1&2)toapprentices(cohortsupto16learners). ThepositionalsoinvolvesactingasanApprenticeshipSupportCoach,providingextraguidancetoensurelearnersstayontrackandsucceed.

Key Responsibilities of the FunctionalSkillsTutor

• DeliverFunctionalSkillsEnglishandMaths,adaptinglessonstomeetlearnerneeds.
• Supportandmotivatelearners
• Planandpreparelessons,assessments,andlearningresources.
• ConductinvigilationandassessmentsinlinewithESFA,Ofsted,andawardingorganisationrequirements.
• Trackandreportlearnerprogressaccurately.
• Buildstrongworkingrelationshipswithcolleaguesacrossdelivery,quality,andcomplianceteams.
• MaintainCPDandcontributeideastoenhanceteachingandlearning.
• EnsurecompliancewithHealth&Safety,Safeguarding,Equality&Diversity,andcompanypolicies.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Essential:

• CertificateinEducation&Training(orequivalent)
• FunctionalSkillsEnglishandMathsLevel2orGCSEsinMathsandEnglish(Grade4–9/Corabove)
• PreviousexperienceofteachingFunctionalSkills
• Experienceinapprenticeshipprogrammesordefencesector
