Help Young People with SEN Thrive in the Workplace

This is a truly unique opportunity to support young people with learning disabilities and autism as they transition from education into the world of work. You’ll be working with employers who are fully committed to making this journey a success — providing real opportunities for learners who may have struggled in mainstream education but are ready to thrive in a different environment.

This charity’s approach blends job coaching with tailored classroom learning, creating a meaningful pathway for 16–24-year-olds with SEN support needs to build confidence, gain qualifications, and succeed in work.

What to Expect

You’ll receive excellent support from day one. For the first 1-2 months, you’ll shadow and support an experienced tutor on site. You’ll then start with your own cohort of learners in September.

  • Role Split: A mix ofjob coachingandtutoring.

Job Coaching

You’ll support learners directly in their work placements by:

  • Helping them understand and perform job tasks.
  • Liaising with employers around reasonable adjustments.
  • Developing key work-based skills like communication and time management.

Classroom Delivery

You’ll lead 1.5 hours of classroom-based learning each day (typically in the morning), provide In-Work Support then a 30 minute reflection before the day ends, including:

  • Embedded functional skills inMaths and English.
  • Work-readiness content tailored to feedback from job coaching.
