A global logistics company is seeking a Functional Operative to lead a small team at Wattisham, near Ipswich. A vacancy has arisen within the Boeing contract for a Functional Operative based at Wattisham, near Ipswich in Suffolk. This critical role involves leading a small team while driving operational performance and ensuring strict compliance with all company standards.
Reporting to a Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operation:
You will assist in the day-to-day management of a team of up to five staff, supporting departmental processes, and will deputise for the Team Leader in their absence.
Review daily performance of your team to ensure that all internal and customer KPIs associated with the team are achieved.
Compile, distribute, and discuss productivity and performance reports with the team to assess, review, and improve operational performance.
Actively communicate with other agencies to achieve joint goals.
Ensure strict adherence to Company standards as detailed in the Code of Conduct Policy, and complete compliance with Safe Working Practices.
Promote the Companys policies on Quality, Health and Safety, and Environment (QSHE principles), and help drive continuous improvement.
Prioritise and respond to customer queries and requests in a professional and timely manner.
Operate the Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) and other computerised systems as required.
Undertake all duties, including the operation of MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and delivery vans, to ensure the efficient operation of the contract.
We are looking for a reliable, flexible, and people-focused individual with a proactive approach to leadership and compliance.
Proven experience of managing a small team and working to agreed targets and specific processes with good attention to detail.
Knowledge of military aerospace logistics, an understanding of and experience in warehouse practices, and an understanding of KPIs and customer service.
The ideal candidate will be PC literate with a working knowledge of MJDI and Microsoft Office software applications.
