Position

Salary: £40,000.00

Type: Permanent

Full time: 40 hours

Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously to assess the cases of people applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS), holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports.
  • Interview claimants to understand the challenges they face.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face‑to‑face, evaluating how the claimant’s disability/condition/illness impacts functional ability in daily activities.
  • Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
  • Interpret clinical information and evidence.
  • Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to the code of conduct.
  • Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below).
  • Ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.
  • Previous experience in using computer software, including Microsoft Office.
Essentials Qualifications
  • Nurses: Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD only)
  • Nurses: Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
  • Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists: Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists: Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists: Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT’s (COT)
  • Paramedics: BSc or Qualified Paramedic
  • Paramedics: Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
