Our client is seeking a proactive FSL Corporate Associate to join their Financial Services Law practice. This role offers a dynamic and varied workload, allowing the successful candidate to advise clients on corporate and commercial law, investment funds, banking, and regulatory matters. With a commitment to combining technical expertise and commercial acumen, the firm delivers timely, solution-oriented advice tailored to client needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical capabilities, ideally in corporate law, coupled with a client-focused, commercially minded approach, allowing for quick adaptation to changing circumstances. This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and contributes positively to the firm's objectives.

Job Duties

• Provide support to partners and senior associates on a broad range of financial services work.
• Advise on regulatory issues and perform legal research and analysis.
• Review legal forms and documents for accuracy.
• Prepare reports and correspondence, and draft various legal documents.
• Maintain system-based filing systems and manage paperwork to ensure proper document storage.
• Take personal responsibility for achieving target hours, managing billings and debtors, and recording time consistently.
• Promote and strengthen the client's brand while contributing to business development plans to attract more work from existing clients and develop new client relationships.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and seek ways to develop services.
• Participate in non-chargeable activities to enhance the firm's know-how and external reputation (e.g., seminars, writing articles, presentations).
• Take responsibility for a wide range of tasks and projects as directed by lawyers and partners.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations as required.

Job Requirements

• 1 to 3 years PQE with a Jersey/UK/Commonwealth qualification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial law, with strong experience in corporate law preferred.
• Knowledge of or a desire to learn about Jersey offshore law.
• Strong technical abilities and business development experience or motivation to assist with business development.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• A responsible, disciplined, and methodical approach to work is essential.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to use initiative to resolve issues independently.
• Enjoyment of collaborative teamwork in a busy environment.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for the role.
