Fruit Farm Production Manager

Up to £50,000 plus on-site accommodation or deposit for new rental property if out of area and benefits.

Staffordshire operation based.

Following a period of extensive growth and with further expansion planned this year, this award winning and diverse fruit farming business are looking to add to their management team of a hands‑on leadership role. You will be hands on, will be responsible for ensuring maximum yields and fruit quality as well as managing pest control, spraying, and husbandry tasks. If you are passionate about quality and innovation in fruit farming and want to take on more responsibility, this is the perfect opportunity.

Duties:
  • Plan and manage plant husbandry tasks to maximise yield and quality.
  • Implement pest control, feeding, and spray plans with guidance from the Farm Manager and agronomist.
  • Manage chemical storage, spraying equipment, and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Lead and train your team, ensuring licenses, safety, and welfare standards are met.
  • Liaise with Picking Manager, neighbours, and beekeepers regarding spray plans.
  • Monitor and record water usage, payroll information, and staff administration accurately.
  • Support investigations into customer non-compliance and implement remedial actions.
  • Foster good public relations and maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene.
  • Oversee irrigation rigs and tunnel effectiveness in line with weather conditions.
To be considered for this role you MUST:
  • Have proven experience in commercial fruit production.
  • Be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Be skilled in crop planning, harvesting, and quality control.
  • Have deep understanding of Red Tractor, BRCGS, and supermarket protocols.
  • Be passionate about agriculture, innovation, and delivering excellence.
  • Understand the need to work weekends and overtime during the growing season.
  • Be positive, proactive and eager to learn.
  • Have good all‑round computer skills.

If you also have PA1, PA2a, PA3a, PA6, have experience of Harvest Manager Farm Production System and Muddy Boots Farm Management Software, this would be a real advantage to you. If you have experience of Priva Irrigation Systems, that would be even better.
