Job description

We are partnered with a leading fixed income hedge fund in London seeking a talented C# Developer to join their front-office technology team. The fund has a strong and consistent performance track record and has invested heavily in its quant and tech capabilities as part of a wider growth plan. You’ll work closely with the quant team as well as traders and other front office stakeholders to build and enhance core trading systems, research tooling, and data-driven applications. Projects span proprietary trading system development, front-office tools, and the application of machine learning across the investment process. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and a highly technical one where code quality and low latent systems are a top priority. This team has a history of developing people’s careers and offers a broad and exciting range of new and existing projects for hires to get stuck into. These will consist of both back-end and front-end projects with 1 week sprints and release cycles, PR review processes and continuous development to master. This is a team we have worked with for a number of years and have a close, direct working relationship with the CTO. We have placed in the team multiple times so are able to go into detail regarding set up of the team and role.

The team primarily uses C# for core systems and Python within quant and data teams. C# and .Net experience and knowledge are essential for this role, but the fund will consider exceptional candidates who work with other likeminded OOP languages (C++, Java, Go). When it comes to financial markets experience, there is a particular interest in Fixed Income and Rates, but these are not essential, they will be open to other asset classes. If you are working in a front office environment or experienced with business critical and very low latent systems, then this role could be a good fit. The fund looks for low-ego, high-performing self-starters who enjoy ownership, teamwork, and delivering pragmatic, commercial solutions. The CTO is particularly interested in candidates that are passionate about technology and want to grow and learn within a fast paced and highly performant environment. You’ll have direct exposure to PMs, quants, and the CTO, and will contribute across design, architecture, and production support.

Requirements
  • Strong academic background in Computer Science or related field
  • Excellent programming skills in C# and .Net
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • 1–5 years’ experience in a relevant software engineering role
  • Interest in finance; fixed income or systematic experience a plus
  • Positive, pragmatic, and collaborative mindset

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing, technology-driven hedge fund with a genuinely collegiate culture.
