We are looking for an inspiring Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to help elevate our service to the next level.

Our therapists play a crucial role in delivering fast, effective assessments and enabling safe, timely discharges across multiple Front Door units–impacting patient flow across the entire hospital.

You’ll work in a state-of-the-art, purpose‑built environment, designed to support innovation, collaborative working, and exceptional patient outcomes. With significant developments underway, this is the perfect moment to bring your expertise and leadership to a service full of ambition and momentum.

Main duties of the job

As Team Lead, you will guide and inspire a talented, supportive group of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Assistants. Our integrated approach is well recognised and highly valued by the wider MDT, and you will be central to driving continued excellence and visibility for the therapy service.

You will benefit from strong professional support from our Clinical Specialist OTs and Physios, alongside our experienced Band 8 Acute Therapy Leads, ensuring you have the mentorship, resources, and strategic backing needed to shape and grow the service.

Job responsibilities

To manage the 7‑day Front Door Therapy Team. The team provides services to the Emergency Department, Acute Assessment Unit (LAMU), Short Stay Units and any other admission unit within GWH. The post holder will be a role model for the Trust core values of Service, Teamwork, Ambition and Respect.

To be responsible for clinical and professional leadership of staff within the team. To ensure safe and effective delivery of therapy and discharge services at the Front Door.

To ensure collaborative working with the other Front Door staff and external partners, promoting admission avoidance, discharges within the Trusts and National targets and early discharge planning and therapy intervention for other patients.
