Overview

We are actively looking to engage a customs compliance professional with a passion for shipping and European / RoW freight forwarding for a new role as a Freight Customs Supervisor in Tamworth, West Midlands.

Client details: My client is an SME freight forwarding business with ambitious growth plans in the freight & shipping industry. You will join a fast-paced environment, assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world\'s largest industrial, retail & FMCG-based customers. The client focuses on providing customs clearance for air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions that are cost-effective and time-sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Managing a team of 5 customs brokerage agents.
• Leading the team and assisting with inputting road, air, and sea freight clearances into CDS / CHIEF using software such as Destin8.
• Preparing road, air and sea freight documentation for customs entries (export packing lists, certificates of origin, EUR1s, ATR1s, dual-use licensing, port charges, cost of special documents, etc.).
• Handling customs entries (EUR1\'s / ATR1\'s) and arranging billings for VAT / duties.
• Ensuring, booking and conducting full end-to-end customs clearance.

The Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years\' experience in customs and/or customs compliance.
• Desire to conduct team leadership of ideally 3+ individuals.
• Experience of using CDS or CHIEF software for customs entries.
• Desirable experience of compliance such as AEO, Letter of Credit Documentation, IPR and/or OPR.
• Knowledge of INCOTerms & Export Licensing is advantageous but not essential.
• Commutable to Tamworth, West Midlands on a hybrid basis.
