Location: Downtown San Francisco CA Full time On-site

General Responsibilities
Role Overview

As the Founding Tax Analyst you will define the core tax intelligence of the platform. You will translate complex federal and state tax law into accurate executable models and ensure our simulation stack produces insights that are legally sound, practically actionable, and optimized for HNWI clients.

This is a hands‑on role; you will write natural language frameworks (not code) for tax calculations, design evaluation logic for simulations, and work closely with engineers to systemize and digitize tax rules.

Responsibilities
  • Write natural language tax calculation logic and develop frameworks for simulation stacks that reflect real‑world HNWI scenarios.
  • Analyze 1040s and related forms to identify optimization opportunities, including equity compensation, AMT, trusts, estates, and multi‑entity portfolios.
  • Collaborate with engineers to digitize tax rules, ensuring accuracy and actionable outputs.
  • Apply AI and prompt engineering techniques to extract insights from tax documents and identify areas for optimization.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state tax laws, providing guidance to the team on interpretation and edge cases.
  • Research and implement strategies that are legally compliant, financially optimal, and practically implementable.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 4–8 years of experience in tax preparation, advisory, or accounting with HNWI clients.
  • Deep understanding of AMT, equity compensation, and multi‑entity tax structures.
  • Ability to synthesize complex tax documents, identify opportunities, and translate them into clear structured instructional and guidance frameworks that LLMs can follow.
  • Proven experience advising high‑net‑worth individuals, founders, and high‑income employees and executives on tax strategies.
Preferred / Bonus
  • CPA, tax attorney (LL.M. or master’s in tax), or accounting or legal background.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, AI, or prompt engineering in the context of tax optimization.
  • Experience in digitizing tax rules, building simulation logic, or automating advisory processes.
Impact

This is foundational work; the decisions you make and the frameworks you build will directly impact the accuracy and effectiveness of the platform. You will be working at the intersection of deep tax expertise, cutting‑edge AI, and software engineering, helping HNWI clients navigate scenarios that were previously only manageable with a team of advisors.
