Job Title: Food Technology Teacher

Location: Manor House School, Slinfold, Horsham, RH13 0QX

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start Date: February 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and creative Food Technology Teacher to inspire students across all key stages and deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons tailored to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will contribute to the wider school community, supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and ensuring a calm and safe learning environment that reflects our commitment to educating the whole child. You will also work closely with colleagues and the Senior Leadership Team to monitor progress, implement interventions, and help drive continuous improvement across the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and adapt Food Technology lessons for a range of additional needs across all key stages.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Track and monitor pupil progress, using assessment data to inform teaching and set targets.
  • Support literacy and numeracy interventions within lessons as needed.
  • Contribute to school development initiatives and report on teaching and learning to SLT.
  • Cover classes as needed and provide additional support to colleagues.
Experience & Qualifications
  • UK QTS
  • Desirable: Experience in or willingness to teach Food Technology.
  • Understanding of pupils with SEN and strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to undertake professional training.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles.
