About the Role

TimePlan Education are currently seeking a dedicated and well‑organised Design & Technology Technician to join a supportive secondary school in Forest Gate from January 2026. This role will predominantly be based within the Food Technology department.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching staff by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for practical lessons. Although the focus will be on Food Technology, there may be occasional support required across the wider DT department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for Food Technology lessons
  • Assisting teachers during practical sessions and demonstrations
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
  • Monitoring stock levels and placing orders where necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and food hygiene standards
  • Supporting general departmental tasks as required
Ideal Candidate Will Have
