Summary


Works under the supervision of the Project Manager and/or Lead Janitor. Maintains 95% standards of cleanliness within assigned tasks, which includes: soiled linens, hard floors, and carpeted floors, removal/replacement of full Bio-Hazard container, complete low and high dusting programs. Must be able to utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


* Responsible for trash removal and cleaning of containers.
* Sweep/dust mop uncarpeted floors
* Vacuum carpets and rugs
* Clean mats
* Spray clean and buff floors
* Wet mop
* Strip coat, buff
* Deep clean carpets and rugs
* Clean under raised floors
* Hose down, scrub, squeegee/mop
* Move all furniture that can be moved, and dust mop the floor.
* Use reverse mopping procedures when mopping floors.
* Strip floors and baseboards when needed.
* Clean (wipe down) doors, furniture, and equipment as needed to established process and procedures.
* Removal of soiled linen.
* Assures that all patient care and exam areas are cleaned as per daily schedule.
* Assures that all office and common areas are cleaned as per daily schedule.
* Responsible for the removal of bio-hazardous waste per shift.
* Must respond to overhead paging system, and radio.
* Complete floor care as scheduled.
* Must perform low and high dusting of assigned areas, which includes but not limited to vents, lights, telephones, desks, ledges, windows and furniture.
* Sweep exterior entry ways and walkways, clean exterior signs and plaques.
* Complete weekly checklist and submit to supervisor.
* Report broken items or equipment for repairs.
* Distributes linen if assigned.
* Conserve cleaning supplies.
* Maintain assigned equipment in satisfactory and working condition.
* Read and be able to understand correct dilution rates for cleaning chemicals.
* Follow all facility safety policies and procedures.
* Comply with all City, State, and Federal agencies requirements.
* Make all decisions based on safety first.
* Read and fully understand the "Material Safety Data Sheets" (MSDS) for all chemicals and solutions used in our processes and procedures.
* Must use discretion when handling confidential materials.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Comply with work schedules and company policies and procedures.
* Adheres to established "Universal Precautions/Bloodborne Pathogen" standards.
* Follow established procedure methods for handling and mixing chemicals.
* Performs other duties as assigned by management and/or supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications


* Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
* High school diploma or GED equivalent
* Requires a Minimum of one years' experience as a Housekeeping Aid or equivalent training or experience Must have 3 months of general experience of progressively responsible housekeeping/sanitation or other work that applies particular knowledge and skills to perform the position.
* Driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to local facilities.
* Have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
* Must be familiar with the use of wet vacuums, buffers, blower fans
* Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards and safety precautions of the janitorial work.
* Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Demonstrates good customer relation's skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Must be capable of lifting to 50 pounds.
* Must be able to pass both required criminal background check and pre- employment drug testing.

Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures

Work Environment

Physical Demands


Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of conditions. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday. Considerable reaching, stooping, kneeling and crouching may be required.

Work Schedule May vary, based on business needs. Usually 40 hours per week. Some overtime may be required
