Qualifications

• Good general education including numeracy and literacy.
• Experience in a healthcare/laboratory environment.
• Awareness of health and safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis and perform routine tests.
• Support the Biomedical Scientist in the Cellular Pathology Department.
• Help with formalin fixed tissue samples and filing wax blocks.

Skills

Ability to follow SOPs/protocols

Basic IT skills

Flexible approach to working patterns

Ability to work under demanding circumstances and to deadlines

Education

Good standard of general education, NVQ, GCSE

Satisfactorily completed training program (12-18 months)
