Overview

The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a new Consultant General, Gastrointestinal and Emergency Surgeon.

Responsibilities
  • Provide full range of clinical, teaching, training, research and management activities expected of a practising General and Colorectal Surgeon.
  • Lead day surgery service, including two endoscopy sessions.
  • Participate in the emergency surgery rota and have the opportunity to develop a special interest.
  • Deliver undergraduate teaching responsibilities for the Norwich Medical School, with potential honorary senior lectureship depending on the extent of teaching undertaken.
  • Encourage clinical research and take on leadership roles including module lead and other University Leadership roles.
Qualifications
  • CCT or be within six months of completion of training or be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register.
Teaching & Research

The Consultant will take on undergraduate teaching responsibilities for the Norwich Medical School, with a potential honorary senior lectureship depending on the extent of teaching responsibilities undertaken. An interest in clinical research will be encouraged. There is scope for developing leadership roles including module lead and other University Leadership roles.
