An exciting vacancy is available as Fitness and Medical Leader in the Sport, Tourism & Public Services department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at our House of Sport Campus in Leckwith and the City Centre Campus.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake the day-to-day operational duties required to run an efficient and effective service to all learners and staff, using the resources within the Curriculum gym at CISC.
  • To maintain an audit of equipment and to identify the needs for additional resources.
  • To ensure at all times that safe working practices are carried out in line with current health and safety legislation.
  • To ensure all equipment is in good working order and maintained accordingly. Any maintenance contracts with external companies should be sustained.
  • To be responsible for laundry for all Academy Sport.
  • To support the Health & Safety Manager in the delivery of First Aid provision across college.
  • To liaise with the Colleges Health & Safety Manager to ensure first aid boxes are stocked according to current legislation.
  • To provide medical support for all Sports Academies, including clinics and pitch‑side cover.
  • To adhere to College policies, particularly those relating to equality and diversity.
  • To adhere to Health and Safety and security measures in accordance with statutory and College requirements.
  • To be a role model supporting College values and corporate management.
  • To actively develop yourself through staff development and training activities and to review your own performance and the performance of those who are responsible to you.
  • Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.

To be eligible for this role you will need to hold at least a Sports related degree, Level 4 sports massage qualification and a First Aid at work qualification.
