Job summary

A community leisure provider in Hounslow seeks a Fitness Manager to lead the fitness department and ensure safety and quality customer experiences. About the Job

As a Fitness Manager at Lampton Leisure you will run the day‑to‑day fitness department, ensuring a safe, enjoyable and quality customer experience. You will cover at least two duty manager shifts a week, proactively manage team performance, set targets and give constructive feedback. You will also be a key holder, opening and closing the building during key holder shifts. Flexibility is required as the site is open 6am‑10pm.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional fitness experience for members and support for equipment and programmes.
  • Open and close the site, handle H&S incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns and perform pool hygiene & safety checks on shift.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with customers, handling complaints and escalating where appropriate.
  • Continuously review fitness equipment, programmes and activities, developing and improving as required.
  • Accountable for the fitness budget, stock takes and inventories.
  • Support the centre to achieve targets and fitness KPIs.
  • Provide clear leadership, ensuring compliance with all health and safety procedures and fixing or escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Line management, coaching and developing responsibilities for the fitness team, keeping the team up to date with industry developments and the benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Fitness Manager.
  • Minimum Level 2 fitness qualified or equivalent.
  • Ideally hold or be able to work towards a First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Ideally hold or be able to work towards a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
  • Ability to meet set targets and deadlines, and be pro‑active in duties.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, coach and develop team members and customers to achieve their potential.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience delivering first‑class customer service.
Remuneration & Working Hours

£30,000 – £35,000 per annum. Full‑time. 22 days holiday allowance, plus bank holidays. This role is full‑time and may require flexible hours due to opening and closing duties.
