Job summary

A leading care organization in Cowes is seeking a Fitness Consultant to design and instruct personalized exercise programs for a high-risk elderly population. Responsibilities include teaching fitness classes, completing client orientations, and performing administrative duties. The candidate should possess a nationally recognized fitness certification and experience working with elderly individuals. Qualifications

We are looking for a dynamic individual to be a part of our team. We are accepting applications for a Fitness Consultant.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized Fitness Certification (e.g. CanFitPro, NSFA, CFES)
• Experience working with high or at risk elderly population preferred including dementia
• Experience with weight room supervision
• Knowledge of the following: Health and Fitness, Dementia and other cognitive impairments, Flexibility, Anatomy, Physiology, Exercise Equipment, Free Weight Exercise, Documentation, Core Stabilization & Therapeutic Stretching, Computer Literacy, Risk Management Procedures, Environmental Hazard Awareness
• Must have the following attributes: Patience, Professionalism, Supportive, Respectful, Concern for Others, Cooperation, Positive Attitude, Self-motivated, Energetic
• Must have the following abilities: Follow Employer Policies, Problem Sensitivity, Lifts and Transfers (50lbs), Stamina, Working Independently
• Must have regular and consistent attendance within the corporate Standard

Responsibilities

• Completes orientations with new clients
• Designs and instructs clients on a well-rounded exercise program specified to their needs (including warm-up, stretching, strength training and cardiovascular)
• Teaches fitness classes
• Performs administrative duties (e.g. filing, collecting fees, tracking members, membership recruitment, answering phone calls, etc.)

Hours: 32 hours bi-weekly (4 hour shifts)

Effective: December 22nd 2025
