Job description
Overview

Fire Safety Officer – Ensure fire safety across a major healthcare trust. Lead inspections, manage risk, and shape policy.

Location: Cambridge • Hours: 24 hr per week • Salary: £16.97 - £21.66

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and develop the Trust-wide Risk-Based Inspection Programme
  • Ensure fire risk assessments meet statutory requirements
  • Monitor fire safety standards across Trust premises
  • Provide building and engineering advice on capital projects and refurbishments
  • Liaise with consultants and design teams on complex systems
  • Ensure fire compartmentation and system drawings are up to date
  • Raise and resolve issue reports from risk assessments
  • Present fire safety reports to executives and stakeholders
  • Liaise with Fire & Rescue Service Officers on inspections and investigations
  • Manage fire alarm systems and ensure maintenance standards
  • Develop fire protocols to improve patient and staff environments
  • Research and apply new fire safety strategies
  • Lead service improvements for quality and efficiency
  • Act independently on strategic and operational decisions
  • Oversee policies impacting Trust-wide operations
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in fire safety management within healthcare or complex estates
