Job description

Job Title: FRA Engineer

Industry: Fire Protection

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum

Location: South East London

We are seeking a skilled and motivated FRA Engineer to join our Reactive Maintenance Team. This is a full‑time permanent role covering London and surrounding counties, with core working hours of Monday to Friday, 08:00‑17:00. You will work across a variety of domestic and commercial properties primarily within social housing and local authority sectors, carrying out surveys, installations, commissioning and remedial works identified from Fire Risk Assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, modify, and commission Grade D domestic fire detection systems.
  • Install and commission emergency lighting systems.
  • Complete remedial works based on Fire Risk Assessment findings.
  • Complete commissioning certificates accurately and in accordance with standards.
  • Cover reactive works where necessary.
  • Document all work clearly and promptly using the Oneserve mobile application.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong knowledge of the electrical industry, including building regulations.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ability to install and commission Grade D fire detection and emergency lighting systems.
  • Experience working from mobile devices to complete electronic job sheets.
  • Good practical and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong organisation and planning abilities.
  • Clear communication with customers and colleagues.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong timekeeping.
  • A supportive, team‑first mindset.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G #removed#)
  • City & Guilds #removed# Inspection & Testing (or equivalent – Desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months)
