Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company based in Gloucestershire is seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. In this role, you will act as the commercial guardian, driving strategic decision-making and enhancing business performance. Ideal candidates will be qualified accountants with proven financial analysis skills, team leadership experience, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels. You will lead budgeting processes, create financial reports, and partner with various departments to foster commercial growth. Competitive salary offered between £75,000 and £80,000.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and team leadership.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence at board level.
  • Ideally experience in food, FMCG, and/or manufacturing environments.

Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

We are seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our growing, market-leading food manufacturing client. Well established and performing well, they have created this new role of FP&A Manager to act as the commercial guardian of the business, driving strategic decision-making and shaping their future success.

You’ll be the bridge between Finance and the wider business, working closely with directors and non‑finance stakeholders and this will therefore suit candidates currently working in FP&A, Business Partnering and Commercial Finance positions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and develop multi‑year strategic plans
  • Deliver accurate forecasting and performance analysis, highlighting variances and opportunities
  • Produce comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive commercial growth
  • Build and maintain financial models to support market expansion and capital investment decisions
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 4
  • Act as the first point of contact for ERP and IT‑related matters
Ideal candidate profile
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence at board level
  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and team leadership
  • Ideally experience in food, FMCG and/or manufacturing environments
  • ERP systems knowledge (SAP Business One desirable)
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
  • A proactive communicator with the ability to deliver change and build strong relationships
