A leading energy solutions firm in the UK seeks an ambitious Financial Controller to oversee revenue collection processes. The role mandates experience in traded energy assets, project management skills, and an accounting qualification (ACA/FCA preferred). Benefits include a competitive salary, discretionary bonuses, and opportunities for growth within a fast-growing team dedicated to sustainable energy solutions.
Highview Power is a fast-growing global organisation, leading the way towards a cleaner, more efficient, and secure energy future. We plan to become a world leader in smarter long duration energy storage, a new technology using liquid air that will enable nations, cities, and corporations to achieve net zero.
In June 2024 we completed a £300m fundraising process for the construction of our first full scale plant in Manchester with new investors including Goldman Sachs, Centrica and the UK National Wealth Fund. This was followed by further investment of £128m for the construction of a second plant in Scotland in October this year. We have a pipeline of other projects in the UK, Australia and Ireland. Two of these have been accepted into the UK's recently announced Cap and Floor mechanism with 2 more expected to follow in the 2nd round.
The Manchester plant will begin to supply services to the National Energy System Operator (NESO) from August 2026.
We know our employees are the key to our success and we are committed to creating a positive, inspiring, and inclusive working environment where you will play a vital part in driving change and helping to achieve the global ambition of becoming net zero.
The imminent start of operations has created the opportunity for an ambitious financial controller with experience of traded energy assets to join our team to ensure that revenues are maximised and efficiently collected.
You will be the Finance lead in a new delivery team comprised of the Head of Trading & Analytics, the Chief Business Development Officer and the Operations Director. External stakeholders include Goldman Sachs, NESO and Centrica.
As part of a small but growing Finance team who are committed to supporting the company’s rapid growth plans and green energy goal, you will work alongside the Group Accountant and the Head of FP&A, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer based in London.
There are initially no direct reports in this role but where a gap is identified, e.g. in settlements, you will be responsible for scoping the requirements and hiring if appropriate.
