Job description
The Company

The Role

As Financial Controller you will be based at the site in Fowlmere, rural Cambridgeshire, and report to the Group Finance Director. You will oversee the finance function for two companies within the group, manage monthly processes, and prepare month‑end reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare month‑end reporting for budget holders, the Board of Directors and the Bank, including performance analysis and group consolidations.
  • Review working‑capital movements.
  • Monitor and forecast group cash flow.
  • Coordinate and prepare budgets and half‑year forecasts.
  • Act as the main contact for year‑end audit, providing required analysis and deliverables.
  • Analyse and contribute to insurance renewals.
  • Ensure balance‑sheet reconciliations and reviews are completed.
  • Provide cover, support and training for other team members.
  • Drive process improvements such as an expenses system, BACs process automation, and invoicing projects.
The Person

We seek an experienced Finance Professional for a busy, diverse role. Key skills and attributes:

  • Ideally ACCA/ACA; QBE qualifications considered.
  • Experience preparing consolidated management reports.
  • Understanding of internal controls.
  • Experience implementing change and coaching/mentoring others.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of accounting, consolidations, and currency.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Team‑working skills and experience training finance team members.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel.
Details

Full‑time, permanent. Hours: 37.5 per week – Monday to Thursday 08:30‑17:00, Friday 08:30‑15:45 (45 min unpaid lunch). Salary is competitive and varies with experience, plus benefits such as regular social events and other perks. Hybrid or remote work is not available.
