Job Introduction

Are you a detail-driven finance professional who thrives on accuracy, control, and continuous improvement? We're looking for a Financial Accounting and Control Analyst to play a key role in maintaining a strong financial reporting and control environment across the Group. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing Finance team where your expertise will directly support robust decision‑making, financial integrity, and positive outcomes for our residents. You'll work at the heart of our financial operations, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and contributing to the ongoing development of best‑in‑class financial controls and reporting processes.

What you’ll do

As the Financial Accounting and Control Analyst, you'll be responsible for ensuring that the financial data underpinning our reporting is accurate, complete, and well controlled. You'll help safeguard the integrity of our financial information while driving continuous improvement across financial processes and systems.

How you’ll do it
  • Lead the timely delivery of accurate Group‑wide reconciliations, including all cash and bank‑related transactions, in line with published timetables.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly control account updates and reports for the Finance Leadership Team.
  • Work collaboratively with heads of service, finance business partners, and non‑finance stakeholders to improve data quality and ensure compliance with financial processes.
  • Analyse trends in financial and non‑financial data, providing insight to support effective decision‑making and quarterly reviews of Group entities’ financial health.
  • Support interim and year‑end audits by preparing high‑quality schedules and analysis and liaising with internal teams and external auditors.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity during data migrations across finance systems, identifying, investigating, and resolving anomalies.
  • Continuously review financial controls and processes, recommending and implementing best‑practice improvements across the function.
The ideal candidate

You’ll be a confident, collaborative finance leader with a passion for accuracy, innovation, and developing people.

Essential qualifications
  • Hold, or be working towards, a CCAB‑recognised accounting qualification (CGMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Proven experience preparing multiple and complex financial reconciliations.
  • Experience working with large financial and non‑financial datasets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential; experience with Sun, Microsoft Dynamics (D365), and Power BI is desirable.
  • A strong commitment to ethical principles, including integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and professional behaviour.
Behaviours for success
  • Compassionate – putting people and residents at the heart of decisions.
  • Progressive – striving for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Dependable – consistently delivering high‑quality, reliable outcomes.
  • Inclusive – valuing diversity and collaboration across all teams.
  • Empowered – enabling others to achieve their best.
What’s in it for you?

You’ll find plenty of opportunities to grow within NHG, supported by a culture that values learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Benefits include:

  • Excellent annual leave allowance and flexible working opportunities
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Enhanced parental leave pay (qualifying period may apply)
  • Health cash plan, employee assistance, and staff discounts
  • Interest‑free loans and cycle‑to‑work scheme
  • Life Assurance – 4× annual salary
