Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing audits and leading projects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver monthly group financial close on time.
  • Lead statutory reporting: prepare UK accounts and oversee overseas accounts.
  • Coordinate intercompany matching and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support entity rationalisation with high-quality financial information.
  • Prepare notes for year-end group statutory accounts.

An industry-leading international organisation is seeking a talented Group Financial Accountant to join its Group Finance function on a temporary basis at the head office in Basingstoke. This role offers exceptional exposure across the entire business, working closely with senior stakeholders, manufacturing sites, audit teams and the wider Financial Operations community.

As Group Accountant, you will play a key part in delivering accurate group reporting, managing intercompany processes, and coordinating statutory accounts and audits for both UK and overseas entities. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What will the Financial Accountant role involve?
  • Deliver monthly group financial close on time while maintaining a strong control environment
  • Lead statutory reporting: prepare UK accounts, oversee overseas accounts, streamline processes, and manage external audits
  • Coordinate intercompany matching and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving issues and variances
  • Support entity rationalisation and provide high-quality financial information to external advisors
  • Prepare notes for year-end group statutory accounts and manage the review and filing process
  • Collaborate with Tax teams to ensure accurate journals, disclosures, computations, approvals, and filings
Suitable Candidate for the Financial Accountant vacancy:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in practice within a large firm or in a similar statutory accounting role
  • Strong knowledge of FRS 102 and end-to-end statutory accounts preparation
  • Proven experience managing audits and leading projects from start to finish
  • Confident working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Group reporting systems is beneficial
