The position will see the successful candidate gaining exposure to business stakeholders of various seniority both in and outside of the finance function. In this busy and varied Financial Accountant role, main responsibilities will include;
Leading the period-end close for defined expense areas, partnering closely with Finance, Commercial and Operational colleagues to ensure costs are captured accurately and in line with relevant accounting standards.
Producing regular management cost reporting for allocated business segments, providing insightful commentary on trends, performance and potential risk areas.
Acting as a key support to Commercial Finance by explaining financial outcomes and the underlying causes of movements versus plan and forecast.
Taking accountability for balance sheet integrity within your remit, including preparation and review of reconciliations and contribution to monthly balance sheet insight.
Liaising with external audit teams in relation to assigned cost categories, coordinating responses and documentation to facilitate efficient and effective audit cycles.
Maintaining strong compliance with the organisation's control environment while actively identifying and implementing improvements to processes and financial controls within your area.
