We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our UK&I Controlling function, a collaborative team responsible for controls and assurance, financial reporting, and accounting services. This role plays a key part in balance sheet control, income statement management, month-end close activities, and driving high standards of financial accuracy across customer contracts.

Job Description

As a Financial Accountant, you will work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant to support process improvements, strengthen financial controls, and drive efficiencies across cost management and financial reporting. You will provide robust financial insight and ensure all accounts are accurately reported, reconciled, and compliant with internal and external requirements. The role is integral to delivering high-quality financial support to Account Leadership and key stakeholders, aligned with the wider objectives of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end close activities, including preparation and processing of accruals, prepayments, and revenue transactions.
  • Complete accurate balance sheet reconciliations and key balance sheet activities such as fixed assets, receivables, and provisions.
  • Support income statement control through analytical review, profitability analysis, and overhead monitoring.
  • Operate within the internal financial controls framework, ensuring compliance and supporting audits and assurance reviews.
  • Review and manage overdue accounts receivable and trade working capital, taking corrective action where needed.
  • Provide financial insight for forecasts, customer reporting, and business reviews, adding value for key stakeholders.
  • Support process improvements and efficiency enhancements across financial controls and reporting.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
  • Qualified or Part-Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, explain, and present complex financial information.
  • Sound judgement and-making capability.
  • Highly organised with strong planning and time management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work well under pressure, manage deadlines, and challenge the status quo.
  • Intermediate Excel skills essential; knowledge of Navision and/or OneStream is advantageous.
