Make an Impact at RSM UK

As one of the world's largest networks of audit, tax and consulting firms, RSM delivers big ideas and premium service to help middle-market businesses thrive. We are a fast-growing firm with big ambitions — we have a clear goal to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. This vision touches everything we do, motivating and inspiring us to become better every day. If you are looking for a firm where you can build a future and make an impact, then RSM is the place for you.

Our Consulting Team

At RSM, our consulting team brings together diverse advisory experts to deliver our six core solutions: business transformation, forensic, deal services, restructuring, finance function support, and risk and governance.

Our solutions are designed to address the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities our clients face as they strive to achieve their aspirations and organisational goals. Whether it’s supporting global expansion, developing acquisition strategies, facilitating private equity investments, or collaborating with boards to manage risk and governance, our consulting experts work as one cohesive team. We prioritise simplicity, providing data-driven insights, value-added assurance, and high-quality execution to empower our clients in building sustainable, future‑fit businesses.

About the team

RSM’s Finance Function Support solution works closely with our clients to optimise their finance function. By providing traditional outsourced and insourced operating models supplemented by deep technical, industry and digital expertise we help our clients navigate the ever‑changing financial landscape.

Our London team has grown rapidly, driven by our success in delivering insight‑led finance solutions to clients in the Private Equity and Real Estate sectors. The strength of our existing management group has been central to that success, and we are now seeking an additional Manager to join this high‑performing team and help shape the next phase of our growth.

About the role

As a Finance Function Support Manager, you will take ownership of the delivery, quality, and profitability of a portfolio of client engagements, ensuring the team delivers a premium partnering service.

You will lead the delivery of managed finance function services across a portfolio of clients, with responsibility for accounting operations, management reporting, and driving improvements in finance processes. In addition to your client‑facing work, you will support the development of the team through coaching and performance management, and build strong internal relationships across service lines to champion our solution. You will also serve as a key technical resource, providing guidance on complex accounting matters, responding to client queries, and ensuring compliance with relevant reporting standards.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, developing strong relationships with senior stakeholders, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high‑quality, value‑added service.
  • Leading on the planning, execution, and review of client deliverables, including overseeing accounting operations, periodic management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Reviewing and advising on finance function process improvements to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the reporting close process — through the implementation of strengthened controls, adoption of technology solutions, or refinement of deliverables to achieve a premium standard.
  • Taking responsibility for profitability, resource planning, WIP and billing management, and monitoring overall engagement performance.
  • Supervising and coaching a team of Assistants and Supervisors, reviewing their work, providing constructive feedback, and supporting their professional and personal development.
  • Developing deep industry knowledge in Private Equity, Real Estate, or both, to better understand client needs, tailor service delivery, and contribute to thought leadership and market positioning.
  • Providing accounting and technical support on complex matters, such as accounting treatment, journal adjustment, consolidated reporting for group structures, and acquisition accounting.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships, supporting fee negotiations, and contributing to proposals and business development initiatives.
  • Leading on one or more aspects of team management, such as delivery quality, technology adoption, training, resource planning, or process improvement.
  • Working closely with Directors and Partners to deliver strategic initiatives that support the ongoing growth of the AFR team and wider firm.
