Job description
Finance Business Partner - Claims Transformation (12 Month FTC)

DLG is evolving. Across every part of our business, teams are embracing new opportunities and putting customers at the heart of everything they do. Whether you're already part of DLG or thinking about joining us, you'll have the chance not only to be recognised for your skills, but also to build on them and be empowered to do your very best.

About the Role

We're looking for a finance professional with strong insurance and claims experience to lead and deliver a portfolio of strategic change initiatives across Claims Finance to join us on a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract.

This is a role for someone who can spot opportunities for improvement, translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights, and work confidently with senior stakeholders.

You'll lead projects that streamline processes, embed new technologies, and enhance financial insight - ensuring Claims Finance remains at the heart of critical decision making. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Claims and Finance, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we manage cost, control indemnity, and respond to market challenges.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Define and manage Claims Finance transformation, ensuring it aligns with wider business strategy.
  • Identifying and delivering process improvements, automation, and standardisation to boost accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate across departments, including operations, Claims change teams and other FBP teams, to align change initiatives with broader organisational goals.
  • Acting as a strategic partner to the Chief Claims Officer, Finance leadership, and key stakeholders.
  • Building capability across Finance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Influencing and leading virtual teams across Finance, Claims, Actuarial, and Pricing.
  • Setting KPIs and success measures to track performance improvements.
  • Delivering tangible outcomes such as cost savings, efficiency gains, and stronger financial insights.
Our hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach. When you'll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 2 days a week in the office.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience leading large-scale finance transformation or change programmes.
  • Insurance industry experience, with a particular focus on claims being preferable
  • Strong knowledge of finance processes (accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with credibility at senior level.
  • Analytical problem-solver with the ability to design practical, effective solutions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial insights to non-finance audiences
  • Professional finance qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Experience in a shared services finance function.
Benefits

We recognise we wouldn't be where we are today without our colleagues, that's why we offer excellent benefits designed to suit your lifestyle:
  • 9% employer contributed pension
  • 50% off home, motor and pet insurance plus free travel insurance and Green Flag breakdown cover
  • Additional optional Health and Dental insurance
  • EV car scheme allows all colleagues to lease a brand new electric or plug-in hybrid car in a tax efficient way
  • Generous holidays
  • Buy as you earn share scheme
  • Employee discounts and cashback
  • Plus, many more
We want everyone to get the most out of their time at DLG. That's why we've looked beyond the financial rewards and created an offer that takes your whole life into account - supporting our people to work at their best, whatever that looks like. Our benefits are about more than just the money you earn. They're about recognising who you are and the life you live.
