Job description
Role Overview

The Finance Business Partner will be a key member of the Commercial Finance and Pricing Team, promoting collaboration, team working, and innovation. This role will involve engaging with senior business leaders to support strategic decision‑making and enhance the firm's pricing support proficiency. Strategic Financial Planning: Acting as a trusted advisor to the leadership in your practice group and sectors, providing insight, critical evaluation, and challenge to support strategic and operational decision‑making. Pricing Support: Enhancing the firm's pricing support proficiency by ensuring compliance with the pricing policy, assisting with bids and client profitability analysis, and continuously developing our commercial training programme. Firmwide Projects: Participating in strategic and transformation change projects as defined in the Finance Tactical objectives, including taking a leading role on the firm's strategic profitability or productivity agendas. Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging proactively with senior leadership to drive stakeholder engagement and support strategic decision‑making. Collaborating with Operations Directors, HR, and Marketing to provide comprehensive cross‑functional operational support. Financial Reporting: Developing financial metrics and tools to support financial reporting, profitability growth, pricing strategies, and innovation. Automating and streamlining existing financial reporting processes, ensuring adaptability to stakeholder needs. Commercial Training: Developing and conducting commercial finance training programs across Osborne Clarke to enhance financial acumen. Line Management: Responsible for managing one Finance Analyst, developing their confidence and skills, and acting as a role model and coach to other analysts in the team.

Key Qualifications
  • Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a proven track record within a legal or professional services background.
  • Experience of working as a Finance Business Partner or a similar commercial role.
  • Demonstrated experience in a complex business environment, with a strong grasp of business strategy and commercial awareness.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to write insightful financial and commercial commentaries based upon sound financial management.
  • Proven ability to build and develop strong relationships within the business, with the ability to explain financial information to non‑finance people.
  • Confidence to influence and challenge business decisions where appropriate.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience in manipulating complex data sets and creating financial models.
  • Ideally experience of legal pricing, this is not a prerequisite.
