Where will you be working? We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We're problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will be within our Finance Team. Based in Stevenage Head Office (c.2 days per week), and supporting our contracts across South of England and Wales.

What will you be doing?
  • Providing financial guidance and support to the Area leadership team, supporting business outcomes.
  • Lead on budgeting and forecasting - on a monthly basis, and as part of the annual Budget/F1 process.
  • Analysis and provide commentary on monthly results vs Budget / F1.
  • Cashflow forecasting for your Areas, and provide accurate ageing of WIP.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements within finance and across business units.
  • Identify and drive cost avoidance and efficiency - providing insight to commercial and operations teams via data.
  • Responsible for balance sheet reviews, and drive compliance of CVRs in line with commercial rules.
What you'll bring
  • Chartered Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA (can consider working towards this in role - will be reflected in salary / grade).
  • Ability to build strong relationships with operational and commercial teams at all levels of seniority.
  • Prior experience driving cost savings and efficiencies in a business.
  • Ability to present and translate potentially complex financial concepts to non-finance audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and data analysis skills - e.g. highly proficient in Excel.
  • Self driven with a can do attitude.
  • Experience of Oracle preferred.
