Finance Business Partner required for a large UK Construction Group (Hybrid – 3 days in the office)

£70,000 – £80,000 + bonus + excellent benefits

We are partnering with a well-established and highly regarded large construction and infrastructure business operating across multiple regions in the UK. With a strong project pipeline and ambitious growth plans, the business plays a key role in delivering complex, high-value construction programmes across commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors. Finance is central to driving performance, controlling risk, and supporting strategic decision-making.

As Finance Business Partner, you will support a major large project, working closely with senior operational, commercial, and project team to provide financial insight, reporting, challenge performance.

Reporting into the Finance Director, you will act as a trusted commercial partner, providing forward-looking insight, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring robust financial control across your business area.

Key Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong background in business partnering, commercial finance or FP&A within similar size organisation and industry
  • Proven project accounting experience within a contract or project-led business
  • Proven experience partnering with operational and site-based teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence at senior level
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
  • Experience with long-term contracts, WIP, cash flow and cost/value reconciliations desirable
  • Experience with process improvement
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial reporting and performance analysis for projects

  • Review month end financials and draw conclusions.
  • Support tenders, bids and investment appraisals with high-quality financial input
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting, controls and financial processes
