Overview

Job Title: Commercial Finance Business Partner

Function: Finance

Role context

In this role you will be the responsible for delivery of Business Partnering project work for the renewables division of Ideal Heating.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join Ideal Heating and work on exciting project work for their renewables division as Ideal Heating continue their transition from traditional gas boilers to Heat Pumps in line with the UK's Net Carbon goals.

Ideal Heating have made huge investments in to their Hull & East Yorkshire facilities, building a training centre in Hessle which houses Heat Pump Install training and they are currently adding to their National Avenue Facility with a new R&D complex in line with their strategic goals for being a market leader in Heat Pumps. The area they believe they are strong in is their ability to manufacture and assemble in the UK, not importing cheaper material and having the technical expertise in the UK will really set them apart from competition and allow for more career development for the team in Hull.

Th Finance Business Partner role is an important role to the business because it will ensure the strategic aims around their renewables division are costed correctly and this role will help implement and scope out the future of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with commercial, sales, marketing, and product teams to provide financial insight and strategic support.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to non-finance stakeholders, helping them understand financial implications of business decisions.
  • Support the development of business cases for new products, services, or strategic initiatives.
  • Review processes to adapt and improve them so the business is ready to expand into new product streams specifically in the Heat Pump division.
  • Evaluate ROI on key commercial activities and project work
  • Conduct variance analysis and develop action plans to mitigate risks or exploit opportunities.
  • Prepare and present regular financial updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders
  • Influence and challenge business decisions using financial data.
  • Review investment opportunities to expand the business through acquisition.
Advantageous
  • ERP implementation experience would be advantageous
  • SAP experience
  • Pulling complex reports from SAP or Systems
  • Creating processes from the businesses systems (SAP)
  • Experience in working with IT department on digitalisation projects which relate to finance
  • IT/Technology Savvy individual would be beneficial
Skills and experience
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • SAP experience would be extremely advantageous
  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • A team player with a flexible and positive attitude
