About the role

The GelBottle Inc. is on an exciting growth journey, and we're looking for a Finance Assistant (Maternity Cover) to be part of our vibrant, founder-led company. If you're passionate about working in a fast-paced environment and eager to contribute to a diverse portfolio of B2B and B2C brands, this is your chance to make a significant impact! Reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations including, processing supplier invoices and employee expenses, assisting with account reconciliations, contributing to budgeting and reporting activities, and ensuring all financial data is accurate, complete, and delivered in a timely manner. This is a hybrid role, approx. 3 days a week at our Brighton HQ.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle across multiple entities, primarily the UK and US, ensuring accurate coding, VAT treatment, and timely processing in NetSuite.
  • Prepare and process weekly payment runs, working closely with the supply chain team to ensure correct documentation and approvals for stock-related payments.
  • Maintain the accounts payable inbox, responding to internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Set up new suppliers in NetSuite, following strict internal controls and compliance procedures.
  • Perform month-end reconciliations, including supplier statements, bank accounts, and stock in transit journals under the guidance of the management accounting team.
  • Review and challenge AP processes to ensure best practices, accuracy, and compliance are consistently met.
  • Support the wider business with ad-hoc finance queries and maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies.
About you

With a passion for numbers and a collaborative mindset, you'll bring your demonstrated experience in a finance or accounts role (preferably within the retail or beauty industry) to support within our scaling environment. You'll bring strong Excel skills, familiarity with accounting software like NetSuite, and a solid foundation in finance through at least an AAT Level 2 qualification.

  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or NetSuite.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and excellent organisational skills.
  • AAT Level 2 qualification or higher.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
