A leading defence infrastructure service provider is seeking a Finance Assistant to support cost control efforts from a home-based setup in the West Midlands. Responsibilities include producing cost reports, collaborating with Finance Business Partners, and ensuring data accuracy. Ideal candidates are proficient in Excel and have experience with SAP. Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Homebased in the West Midlands, attendance at Birmingham office or a local site 2-3x per month.
Working Hours: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience
As a Finance Assistant, you will be at the heart of VIVO's cost control efforts. Your work will ensure our leaders have accurate, timely, and insightful financial data to make the right decisions.
You will be producing clear, standardised monthly cost reports, breaking down spend by supplier, cost type, and employee. You will partner with Finance Business Partners to design new analysis and reporting tools, and you will work with SAP systems to validate postings and ensure costs are coded correctly. You will also be working with Stakeholders across VIVO, as part of a team with another Finance Assistant and a Finance Graduate.
You will support with month-end journals, external reporting requirements, and ad-hoc analysis, while building your knowledge of reporting systems and dashboards in collaboration with our data analytics team.
This role is ideal if you enjoy working with data, finding patterns, and creating clarity, all while helping shape the financial backbone of a fast-growing business.
You do not need to be fully qualified, but if you are AAT qualified or part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA), that will be an advantage. More importantly, you will bring a confident and collaborative approach with strong communication skills.
You will be highly proficient in Excel, with the ability to manipulate and present complex data clearly and accurately.
You will have a meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to producing reliable work. Experience with SAP is valuable, but the key requirement is a willingness and ability to learn new systems quickly.
This role is homebased, but you will need to be based in the West Midlands and able to commute to our office in Birmingham 2-3 times a month.
You will also need to be able to pass BPSS Clearance
