Finance Assistant

ViFi is a modern outsourced finance team acting as a full internal finance department for growing businesses across the UK - part of the Streets group (Top 40 firm). We support business owners with far more than bookkeeping — we handle the day‑to‑day finance function, provide management reporting, and help clients make better commercial decisions. This means working closely with suppliers, customers, and operational teams, not just “doing the numbers”.

This role suits someone from practice or industry who enjoys variety and being closer to how businesses actually operate.

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll be part of the ViFi delivery team, supporting multiple clients and helping run their day‑to‑day finance function. This is a hands‑on, varied role with real responsibility and clear development opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Processing and maintaining accurate bookkeeping in Xero
  • Assisting with VAT returns and reconciliations
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting monthly management accounts preparation
  • Posting payroll journals and maintaining control accounts
  • Managing client finance inboxes (Accounts@ emails)
  • Dealing directly with suppliers and resolving queries
  • Making supplier payments and supporting payment runs
  • Dealing with customers regarding invoices and queries
  • Supporting credit control and cash collection
  • Responding to day‑to‑day client finance queries
  • Assisting with cashflow tracking and basic forecasting
  • Supporting improvements in processes, systems, and controls
About You

We’re open to candidates from industry or practice, as long as you have a solid finance foundation and the right mindset.

You’ll ideally have:
  • AAT Level 4 (will consider Level 3, studying for Level 4)
  • Experience in a finance assistant / accounts assistant role
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, double‑entry, and reconciliations
  • Experience using Xero (or similar cloud accounting software)
  • Confidence communicating with suppliers, customers, and clients
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail
