Part-Time Finance Assistant, 15 hrs / week, Basingstoke, up to £30k fte

This part-time Finance Assistant role offers variety and the chance to join a friendly, long-established business to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

The Role

As Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely finance administration across the sales and purchase ledgers. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll be the go-to person for day-to-day finance tasks and month-end reporting.

Your key responsibilities will include :

Sales Ledger
  • Posting and allocating cash to the general ledger
  • Reviewing overdue accounts and chasing outstanding payments
  • Working with key account managers on any issues
  • Liaising with major retailers to resolve payment or deduction queries
  • Managing sales orders on hold
  • Keeping the debtor ledger clean and up to date
  • Completing credit checks and gaining trade references for new accounts
  • Reviewing customer credit limits in line with risk and trading levels
  • Maintaining the promotional spend tracker
  • Updating customer pricing once approved
Purchase Ledger
  • Posting purchase invoices to the general ledger
