Job summary

A leading specialist trade merchant is seeking a Finance Apprentice based in Warwick. This is a full-time, permanent role where you will provide transactional support, manage contracts, and assist in financial reporting. You'll receive a structured training plan alongside a Level 7 ACCA Apprenticeship, while gaining exposure to various finance areas. Finance Apprentice – Warwick

As a Finance Apprentice based in Warwick, you'll be responsible for:

  • Transactional Support
  • Understand, administer the work routines and procedures for Transactional support
  • Identify expired and expiring contracts, liaise with relevant stakeholders to rectify
  • Set up new contracts in our operational systems
  • Margin Recovery
  • Identify, analyse and resolve margin weaknesses
  • Measure and report business benefit(s) from margin improvement activities
  • Customer Rebates
  • Administer the workflow relating to the rebate process
  • Evaluate customer rebate proposal
  • Understand how to propose a rebate which is a \"win\" for both us and our customer
  • Business Unit Finance
  • Provide support to the Business Unit operational & sales teams
  • Support the WUK businesses to deliver profitable growth
  • Month end tasks (including journals, review of results and forecasting)
  • Performance Management and Reporting
  • Understand key financial measures
  • Understand the Wolseley company structure
  • Produce weekly and monthly management reporting

You'll be completing a structured training plan, gaining exposure to all areas of finance, as above. This will be complimented by a Level 7 ACCA Apprenticeship, where you will be provided time each week to complete your training activities.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 8am - 5pm.

What we’d like you to have
  • Experience of working with computers, particularly Excel
