Overview

The successful candidate will work as part of the Thames Valley and Surrey (TVS) Secure Data Environment (SDE) Programme hosted by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH). They will contribute to the design and implementation of systems and processes to facilitate the finance and contract management for this important national programme. The services they manage will have a significant impact on the delivery of this programme. Working with commercial, academic and NHS colleagues across the Thames Valley and Surrey region, the post holder will use their expertise to support the improvement of patient care through cutting-edge research. The successful candidate will provide expert leadership and technical knowledge on the delivery of finance and contract management services across a range of areas, including the establishment of new finance and contract management systems and the integration with existing local, regional and national processes. They will be responsible for strategic planning and delivery across a range of specialised areas and will manage the design, development and adaptation of highly complex finance and contract management solutions.

  • Establish new finance and contract management systems and integrate with existing local, regional and national processes
  • Engage with commercial, academic and NHS colleagues to support programme delivery and patient care improvements
  • Plan strategically and deliver across specialised areas; manage design, development and adaptation of complex finance and contract management solutions
Qualifications
  • Educated to Master’s level in a relevant subject or with equivalent experience
  • Specialist qualifications in finance, accounting

  • Committed to ongoing specialist training to support job role and self development
  • Extensive experience of finance within an NHS environment, with a strong track record of achievement
  • Extensive experience of managing and taking responsibility for large budgets and a wide range of internal and third-party contracts
  • Experience of working with sensitive or confidential data, such as financial information or patient records
  • Extensive experience of interpreting and applying the law governing finance
  • Proven experience of finance and contract management in TRE/SDE contexts
  • Experience of commercial business partnering & modelling including royalty income streams
