Job summary

A regional council in Northern Ireland is seeking 2 Finance and Payroll Officers to provide essential financial support. The role involves advising council officers, preparing reports, and processing data efficiently. Candidates should possess at least 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths, alongside 2 years' office experience. A valid driving license is required. This temporary position offers a rate of £16.90 per hour, working Monday to Friday for 37 hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in a busy office environment.
  • Full current driving licence to drive within Northern Ireland.

An opportunity has arisen for 2 CSS Level 3 Finance and Payroll Officers to join Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. This role provides essential financial support, ensuring smooth daily operations and contributing to the effective delivery of council services. About the role: £16.90 per hour. Monday to Friday. 37 hours per week. Location: Confirmed upon appointment. Temporary - 3 months. Public Sector.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and guidance to officers across Council on matters of policy, regulation and legislation in your area.
  • Prepare management information, letters, memos, reports, presentations and other documents for review by management.
  • Collate, assign & manage queries, from internal and external stakeholders and assess the information against legislative frameworks and policies before compiling responses to issues for review.
  • Process and input relevant information and data to systems in line with agreed processes and procedures, identifying any issues and raising them to management.
  • Order goods and services for the department as requested ensuring best value for Council.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a high level of service.
  • To organise, arrange and attend meetings and take minutes and notes as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English Language and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy.
  • 2 years’ experience in a busy office environment.
  • Alternatively, if you do not have 5 GCSEs you should demonstrate 4 years’ experience to include a qualification in English Language and Maths.
  • Applicants must hold a full current driving licence to drive within Northern Ireland and access to a form of transport that meets the needs of the post in full,
