Job Title: Accounts Manager

Location: Bideford / South West (More office based but with flexibility to sometimes work hybrid)

Salary: Up to £55,000 (depending on experience)

Are you an experienced accounts professional ready to take the next step in your career? We're seeking an Accounts Manager to join a high-performing, friendly team in a respected accountancy practice in the South West. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team, manage a diverse client portfolio, and play a key role in delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a small team, managing workload and supporting professional development.
  • Act as the primary contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong, trusted relationships.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Oversee tax computations, corporate and personal tax returns, and VAT submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with all accounting and tax regulations.
  • Support clients with business start-ups, registrations, and financial planning.
  • Provide proactive advice to help clients optimise tax and improve profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to offer additional services and solutions to clients.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience working at manager level within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong background in accounts preparation and tax compliance for a range of businesses.
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Proactive, supportive, and positive approach to team leadership.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
