Overview

Astute's Renewables Team is exclusively partnering with a leading business in the UK's transition to electric vehicles. We're looking for a Field Service Engineer to service and maintain a network of EV chargers along with specific EV forecourts. Their power comes from renewable energy sources too, so this is a chance to join the green revolution and contribute to a greener world here in the UK.

The role is regional—covering Cambridge up to Norwich and down to Thurrock. The salary is up to £41,000, with a company electric van and excellent benefits. If you're a Field Service Engineer who enjoys working in the field and fault-finding, please apply below.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Undertake planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements.
  • Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner.
  • Carry out site surveys as required.
  • Compile accurate and appropriate documentation for internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, high voltage and safety documents suitable for audit.
  • Ensure that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity.
  • Comply with the company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping.
  • Comply with all aspects of the company's ISO standards: Quality management (ISO 9001) / Environmental (ISO 14001); proactively contributing to the company's continuous improvement programme.
  • Participate in an on-call rota if required.
  • Travelling throughout your region and, on occasion, further to provide holiday or sickness cover.
Professional qualifications
  • At least a level 2 electrical installation qualification; testing and inspection certified, C&G 2391.
  • UK driving licence with, ideally, a clean licence.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining EV chargers is hugely beneficial.
  • Good fault-finding experience/knowledge.
Personal skills
  • Enjoys being on the road visiting sites.
  • Happy with a reasonable amount of lone working.
  • Wants to contribute to the renewable energy industry.
