A leading engineering firm in Northampton is seeking a Service Engineer to carry out PPM and breakdown on materials handling machinery. The role offers a starting salary of £31,000 to £39,000 based on the chosen contract, with additional benefits like a fully expensed van and a comprehensive training package. Ideal candidates will have experience with forklifts or similar equipment. This is a Monday to Friday role with OTE of £40-45K.

Overview

Service Engineer (Field/Mobile Mechanic/Vehicle Technician) – Northampton. Monday to Friday 40 or 45 hour contracts available. £31,000 - £39,000 starting salary depending on contract chosen. No stay away or extensive travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and breakdown on materials handling machinery on a field service engineering basis
• Reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area
• Complete comprehensive training to get fully competent on all machinery and equipment
• Spares placed in van overnight

Person Required / Qualifications

• Plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment, automotive technicians/motor trade will also be suitable
• Engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills
• Ideally hold a level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject

Salary and Benefits

• Salary: £31,000 - £39,000 starting salary depending on contract chosen
• Hours: Monday to Friday 40 or 45 hour contracts available
• Overtime: paid at 1.5x and 2.0x (OTE £40-45K)
