Field Service Engine Technician
Up to £43,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
South East - Northampton, Milton Keynes, Luton and Cambridge

SCINERGY are recruiting for a Field Service Engine Technician to support the maintenance and repair of engine-powered equipment across multiple operational sites in the South East region such as Northampton, Milton Keynes, Cambridge and Luton.

The client is a major player in the Power Generation and Green Energy sector. This role involves working independently on a range of power generation driven equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely, reliably and efficiently.

Full training will be provided for candidates with engine maintenance, repair or overhaul experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on PowerGen engines
  • Perform planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on engine-driven equipment
  • Conduct engine performance testing and tuning where required
  • Attend breakdowns on an on call rota
  • Maintain accurate service, inspection and repair documentation
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental standards
  • Travel between sites, working independently and managing your own workload
What We're Looking For
  • Strong background in engine maintenance - diesel plant, small engines, HGV engines, generators, power units or similar
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Mechanics, Engine Maintenance, Plant Engineering or similar
  • Confident with diagnostics, fault-finding and hands‑on mechanical repairs
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-motivated, reliable and safety-focused with strong problem-solving skills
  • Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn
