Field Engineer – BMS & Automation Systems

Location: Thanet, Kent (with UK-wide travel to client sites)

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer – BMS & Automation Systems to join a specialist engineering business based in Ramsgate. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation, BMS integration and control solutions for high-profile clients across the data centre and advanced manufacturing sectors.

This varied role will see you working both on-site in Kent and travelling to customer facilities across the UK, providing expertise in commissioning, diagnostics, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, and maintain automation, SCADA, and BMS control systems on client sites
  • Carry out diagnostics, troubleshooting, and system repairs across hardware and software platforms
  • Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, SCADA platforms, and industrial networking devices
  • Commission and support OT Fieldbus communications (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet / IP)
  • Provide on-site client support, training, and technical guidance
  • Collaborate with in-house design and software teams to deliver seamless project outcomes
