Overview

Role overview: We are looking for an Analyst/Associate to join the Interest Rates Sales business. Ideally looking for a candidate with prior interest rate sales experience who is a self-starter, adaptable and who is committed to building strong and lasting relationships with our clients. Based in London, the successful candidate will be responsible for selling Interest Rate products. Upon starting the role, you will initially support senior salespeople and help on executing transactions. As you develop your client facing skills and product knowledge more accounts will be assigned to you. You will be expected to develop a good understanding of the Fixed Income marketplace. You will also be expected to become involved in business and product development and obtain a good knowledge of the competitor landscape. The scope for development within the role is high as you would be encouraged to take on additional responsibility from an early stage.

Responsibilities
  • Generate ideas and opportunities for new and existing clients in response to relevant market themes and dislocations
  • Develop & maintain tools, quantitative metrics and signals for identifying sales opportunities
  • Establish/maintain a strong connection with various sales and trading desks across the Fixed Income business
  • Communicate opportunities to sales & clients, with a view to generate flow for the rates business.
  • Interact with partners in other fixed income divisions (FX, credit, commodities) to identify opportunities to collaborate and cross-sell
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical mindset, with ability to go in depth and provide differentiating analysis
  • Knowledge of various interest rate products, including vanilla/exotic derivatives
  • Keen interest in the financial markets, economics, market dynamics and have the desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A commercial mindset and desire to collaborate and create strong partnerships with trading and external clients
  • Strong technical / analytical skills
  • Ideally a master's degree in a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering, and math) or finance related topic
  • Strong understanding of numbers and basic programming concepts
  • Strong people skills, with an ability to be commercial
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to speak a second language
