Job summary

A community support organization in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a personal assistant for a lovely older lady who wishes to remain independent at home. The ideal candidate should have experience in assisting individuals with Dementia and be culturally sensitive, particularly regarding attendance to the Gurdwara Temple. Responsibilities include personal care, domestic duties, and support in food preparation. Flexibility is essential, and a driving license would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility in hours and willingness to assist in a home setting.
  • Driving license is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care and daily living tasks.
  • Support food preparation as necessary.

  • Hours: 15 hours per week including weekends
  • Area: Newcastle Upon Tyne
  • Rate: £13.00 per hour

We are currently looking to recruit a personal assistant for a lovely older lady who wants to remain independent within her home setting. Kamla is seeking a personal assistant to accompany her to the Gurdwara Temple twice weekly, you must be aware of the cultural expectations and dress code of the Temple and be happy to adhere to the requests. Kamla speaks her native language of Punjabi most of the time but is able to understand some English and family will be available to assist with communication and support in the role.

This post requires an experienced personal assistant who can demonstrate the ability to manage and support individuals who have a diagnosis of Dementia. A background knowledge of Dementia is required and an ability to safeguard and encourage independence is essential.

Personal care, domestic duties and support in food preparation is requiring in the role.

Flexibility around hours is essential. A car driver would be advantageous.
